The 3 C's for photoshoots! Choose outfits that are color coordinated, complimentary and comfortable.
Not at this time, due to COVID. My goal is to keep everyone as healthy as possible and that means no sharing of changing tents between seniors.
Golden hour! We will meet 1-2 hours before sunset (according to your package). This is the time when the light is warm, the shadows are gentle and there is a magical golden glow to the world around us.
If evenings don't work in your schedule, the next best time is shortly after sunrise. The world is fresh and alive with gentle drops of dew catching the sparkle of the morning sun and the hopes for an amazing day!
My couples and engagement sessions are all outdoor. We will connect before your session via zoom, in person or email, to choose locations that best fit your personality. Gardens, parks, secret spots in and around towns... you can find the "perfect spot" just about anywhere! Think about where you and your family feel most natural. Is it in gardens around flowers, woods, fields, urban settings, rivers? I have a wide variety of spots that I can recommend, however I am always up for an adventure!
In order to make the most of your scheduled time, we will meet at the first location of your choice. Drive time is included in the session time (the sunset doesn't wait) so choosing spots that are close together is key to getting the most from your session.
We will connect via text the week before your session keeping an eye on the weather. We all know that saying though, if you don't like the weather in Michigan, wait, in 5 minutes it will change! We will continue to connect even up to an hour before your session. If it looks like rain is an absolute, we will work to find the next available date for your session!
Best rule of thumb, be yourself! I will help you, however being fluid as we shoot will produce natural images. Embracing, being playful, talking, walking and just having fun together as a couple will produce the most natural images with genuine smiles. I can suggest a pose but then feel free to move within the pose, or use said suggestion as a starting point and go with whatever feels right.
I shoot with a Canon EOS 6D Mark II. I usually use my 2.8 70-200mm zoom. I love this lens because it allows me to give you space but still get those tight shots. I use a Godox V850II flash and sometimes will use off camera flash, however I prefer to just use natural light whenever possible. And of course my trusty step stool!
Absolutely! I love pets! Any kind of pets. We have a very mischievous double doodle named Behr, a mali uromastyx lizard named Hana, and a betta fish named Meep. Pets are always welcome, just be sure to check if locations you choose allow pets ahead of time.
You can feel free to bring any items or props you would like. Cars, motorcycles, items from home, items that hold sentimental value. My rule is, it's your session... it's your call!
Payment is expected at the time of our session. I will reserve the date for you in my calendar. If you have to reschedule, please let me know at least 1 week in advance. so that I can open the date up to others. I accept, cash, check, Venmo and Paypal.
